The Boys Soccer team won the 5A State Championship 2-0 against Edison Saturday.

“I feel like from the very beginning we were bonding very clearly over our goal that this team is going to win a state championship,” junior Robert Lehr said. “It was the desire. Everyone was locked in to win every game.”

This win is the team’s first state championship victory since 2007.

“It was an exciting moment,” junior Bernard Jones said. “The first time in 20 years is amazing. It’s just a big moment for the school, and just for our players.”

Junior Nick Pitman was named the  Player of the Season.

“It felt really good,” Pitman said. “This was an amazing and historical season for the team, and to be recognized for that meant a lot to me.”
