This year’s Prom looked a little different for juniors and seniors. Because the school no longer has a spring homecoming court, a junior king and queen were crowned at prom, replacing junior homecoming court.
Clancy Club co-sponsor Sarah Warmker said the club still wanted a way for this year’s seniors, to crown next year’s seniors.
Ballots were emailed to the upperclassmen, so they could nominate junior candidates. The top five junior boys and girls with the most votes became the nominees for the final round of voting to determine the prom king and queen. Because this year is the first year for prom king and queen, this year’s senior homecoming court will be passing down the crown.
“We don’t have the junior court anymore so I think it’s really important that we continue passing it down, it’s a tradition that never ends,” senior Homecoming Queen Anna LaForge said.
Voted for by their fellow classmates were juniors Lucas Welch-Bell and Kiona Wadmia.
