This week, the Executive Student Council Members were called into an emergency meeting after the original theme of the 2026 Olympics was changed from Harry Potter to Seasonal Showdown.
According to Olympics Chair Luke Strickland, “the theme was changed because there was a complaint to the Archdiocese about Harry Potter.”
As the T-shirts had already been ordered, the student council members were forced to quickly choose a new theme.
“Due to the short amount of time before Olympics, they decided to pick seasons because they closely resemble the colors of the Harry Potter houses,” Strickland said.
Because of some concerns that Harry Potter could promote witchcraft, which does not comply with Catholic church teachings, the theme for Olympics was asked to be changed to something different. Olympics week begins on Tuesday and will conclude April 10 with Field Day.
Order T-shirts here by today at 3 p.m. today.
