Last Tuesday, Mar. 28, both Irish soccer teams held their senior night celebrations, ending with a 5-0 win for the girls and a 7-0 win for the boys against El Reno.

Both teams honored their senior players and managers for all their hard work and dedication to the teams. The celebrations took place between the girls and boys games.

The girls’ celebration honored the reigning state champions seniors including team captains Sabrina Guzman and Reese Roberts, Caroline Lawton, Georgia Garrett, Kathryn Hadrava, Maria Aglow and Blayne Schwarz and manager Avery Payne. The girls continued their undefeated season with their 5-0 win.

“The game was very heartfelt to me,” Guzman said. “I remember seeing my sisters walk on that field, and being the last one to walk down there is very sad, but overall a happy experience.”

The seniors on the boys team included team captain Marc Tawk, Jack Dolan, Zane Shaded and Vincent Shivers along with managers Taylor Schumaker, Maddie Smith and Natalie Nguyen. The boys win made them 4-1 on the season.

The next games are April 4 at Carl Albert. The girls kick off at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
