The school celebrated the seniors’ successes this season at halftime of the Oct. 25 football game.
The 21 seniors on the football team, six on Pom, 13 on cheer and 15 on cross country were congratulated last Friday. To recognize the hard work the seniors have put in, cross country, pom, and cheer members were gifted flowers during halftime.
“The seniors were like Girl Scouts,” girls cross country coach Matt George said. “They left it better than they found it.”
The senior lineup on the football team is the first class coach Matthew Cowart has led through all four years. Because of this, Cowart was able to see the team develop throughout their time.
“It’s the group that was here as freshmen when I first started teaching here,” Cowart said. “All those guys were, you know, my first group that I got to work with when I got here, so now I’m kind of seeing them finish their first go round.
Along with the football team leaving Pom and cheer is also saying goodbye
“I’m glad they’re here, but sad that they’re leaving,” freshmen pom member Ashtyn Nguyen said
