During fall break, students took a welcome break from classes, many traveling or spending time with family and friends.
Junior Emelia Chambers traveled to Washington, D.C., New York City and Long Island.
“In D.C we toured Georgetown University and then we took a train to NYC where I saw ‘MJ’ the musical with my parents,” Chambers said. “Then we went and visited my grandparents on Long Island for a day.”
Chambers has gone to New York City multiple times before, but she tried some new restaurants this time around.
“New York City was really fun, and I loved walking around at night with all the lights and going to different types of restaurants,” Chambers said.
Chambers added that she hopes to visit Long Island again this Christmas to visit her grandparents.
Junior Ashlyn Beasley went to Chicago with her family for fall break.
“We went shopping on Michigan Avenue and cheered on the Chicago marathon, as well as touring colleges,” Beasley said.
This was Beasley’s first time in Chicago.
“I had a really fun time,” Beasley said. “The whole entire city was full of energy the entire weekend, and it was so cool to be a part of that.”
Sophomore Ella Herrin went to Dallas with her family to see the OU vs. Texas football game.
“I had a really fun time at the game,” Herrin said. “Even though we lost it was still a fun experience and we got to go shopping around Dallas afterwards.”
