After the season debut at home against Mount St. Mary, the Lady Irish softball team went on to play six more games the week of Aug. 11.
The girls faced Classen SAS twice last week, gaining two wins on Aug. 12 (19-4) and Aug. 17 (22-1). As well as beating Classen SAS, the Lady Irish beat the Del City Eagles 11-5 and Lawton Eisenhower 5-2, Aug. 16.
“I am pretty proud of the girls in the way that they played across the seven games last week,” Coach Dillon Walker said. “I think that the girls should be proud of themselves, too, for the way that they played.”
The Lady Irish this week face three district games, and one non-district game against the OKC Bronchos.
“I think going into the next week of games is still going to be tough,” Walker said. “We end the week with the team that we’ve already beat. So, I think, no matter how the midweek goes, we’ll at least end on a positive, and on a high note.
