For the fifth time since 2008, the newspaper won the James F. Paschal Sweepstakes award from Oklahoma Scholastic Media marking it as one of the top student newspapers in the state; additionally, the news magazine won its sixth All-Oklahoma award since 2008, and the news website won its first All-Oklahoma award.

Spring Media Monday is held each year to present news staffs with OSM state awards their respective publications earned over the year. This is the only state competition in Oklahoma for news staffs, and it has multiple categories. Members of the publications staff brought home individual awards in both the previously published contest and the previously published and on deadline combined contest. Additionally, both the news magazine and news website received Highest Honors and All-Oklahoma Awards, and the news magazine received the Sweepstakes award.
